Time has been flying and it's already 2012! While the weather has felt more like spring than mid-winter, surely we will still get a bunch more snow to fill the high mountain rivers and creeks so that we can once again enjoy the fabulous fishing in the Weminuche. It won't be long until spring is here and then we will soon open for rides here on the ranch. I can already taste the steaks on the grill, the woodsmoke from the fire saturating my clothing and imagine riding in the high country of the Weminuche Wilderness. Then, the call of the elk...
We stocked our section of the Florida River in early April of 2011 and we are once again offering guided flyfishing on this beautiful stretch of water (which was devastated by the Missionary Ridge Fire of 2002). Give us a call if you are interested in trying out this fabulous fishery. We stocked 100 12-16" rainbows and 100 6-8" rainbow in this 1 1/2 mile section through our ranch.

Once again, our Backcountry
Horsemanship Clinics featuring Craig Cameron were one of the highlights
of our summer. We had participants from New Mexico, Texas, New Mexico and
everywhere between. Craig’s incredible personality and ability to teach,
combined with our unique wilderness setting, sets this ‘clinic’
apart from anything in the world. It truly is something that you must join
to understand what it’s all about.

We will be offering a Continental Divide
Trail Ride Aug 11-19, 2012. This is one of the most magnificent trips
in the world, riding on the top of the world along the spine of the Rocky
Mountains through the Weminuche Wilderness, the largest in Colorado. This
may very well be the highest you can be for eight days on a horse in the
United States!

During late August through mid September we spent our time in the high country in pursuit of elk with primitive weapons (bow and blackpowder). The weather was incredibly warm and the rut was later than normal. The warm weather continued throughout the entire rifle seasons as well allowing us to call in bugling bulls all the way into November. As a matter of fact, we called in all of the bulls that we took during the first rifle season.

Our fall Mexico’s Copper Canyon Horseback Trip
Back in Time is November 14-24, 2012. This trip is a true cultural
adventure, with incredible scenery, jaw dropping trails, cultural history,
anthropology, camaraderie, solid horses and the rest is totally indescribable.

We are excited to announce that we are going to be offering our third Western Wilderness Photography Workshop featuring Christopher Marona. Chris is a world renowned Western Photographer in addition to being a staff photographer of Cowboys & Indians magazine.
